AP Biology
AP Biology is equivalent to a two-semester introductory college-level biology course. Students cultivate their understanding of biology through inquiry-based investigations as they explore the following topics: evolution, cellular processes, energy and communication, genetics, information transfer, ecology, and interactions. Twenty-five percent of the instructional time is spent in hands-on laboratory work, with an emphasis on inquiry-based investigations that provide students with opportunities to apply science practices. Students are encouraged to sit for the college board’s advanced placement biology examination.

Honors Human Anatomy and Physiology may be taken concurrently with AP Biology.
