Aquatic Environmental Science
In this course, students build on the foundations of earth, life, and physical science core ideas in order to construct an understanding of the living and nonliving components of aquatic ecosystems. Lab and field experiences based within Chesapeake Bay watershed will provide students the opportunities to explore population biology and related management practices, interactions within and among aquatic ecosystems, local sources of freshwater and groundwater, and human impact on aquatic ecosystems.
Prerequisites and other notes: Biology.

Students will have the opportunity to earn fifteen (15) service-learning hours during the course. The projects for these service hours will be extensions of the aquatic environmental science curriculum.
